Matheus Monteiro

Hey, I’m Matheus

Software Engineer turned SRE at Flutter Brazil.

I’m a Computer Engineer from UFC (Universidade Federal do Ceará) in Ceará, Brazil. I’ve built things in Python, Java, C++, Ruby, and whatever else the job needed. Now I make systems more reliable and try to sleep through the night without getting paged.

Research Background

During my time at UFC, I was a researcher at Insight Lab, working on Machine Learning, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Edge Computing, and MLOps. You can find my publications on ResearchGate.

What I Do Now

Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS. The usual SRE stack. I love systems that scale, automating everything I can, and building things that break gracefully instead of spectacularly.

Lately I’ve been working a lot with AI, LLMs, and agents. Both at work and on personal projects, building tools that solve real problems.

Still interested in Software Architecture and IoT when I get the chance.

The Homelab

I run a homelab where I experiment with the same tools I use professionally — Proxmox, Talos, Kubernetes, all managed with Terraform. It’s where I break things on purpose so I don’t break them accidentally at work.
